"I want to dedicate this second cookbook to Joey. Making this has been bittersweet for me because even though I've lost my partner, sister-in-law, and friend, I was able to finish something that will help, in some way, to keep Joey in the minds and hearts of her fans. Joey and I started this book last year when she was going through her treatments. When she went to visit her family in Indiana and subsequently ended up staying there, this cookbook understandably was put on hold.

Now that some time has passed, I wanted to finish the project that we started together and also honor Joey. What better way to do that than helping people feed and nourish themselves and their families with home-cooked meals as Joey so loved doing for her family.

With that in mind, this book has some favorite recipes of Joey and me. I truly hope that whether it is a day after you get this book, or ten years later, you can enjoy making the different dishes and desserts in here and while you are enjoying your meal, you will think of Joey and help keep her memory alive."
